Vitamin Z - Burning Flame [McDoC Evo-XR Mix]

Running Time: 12:12

One of the coolest and distinct vocals from the new wave era belongs to Geoff Barradale of Vitamin Z. This single made the group popular when it was released in 1985. I remember thinking back then that the intro of the song was a little bit similar to Kim Carnes' "Bette Davis' Eyes", also a great 80's hit. Here's my re-edit to this classic track.
Thanks to DJ Onyx for the Dub Version.

Blancmange - Lose Your Love [McDoC Evo-XR Mix]

Running Time : 10:02

While this track may be considered a flop compared to the other singles released by this great synthpop band, this is still my favorite Blancmange song. Well, it had a lot to do with the music video which featured Neil Arthur and Stephen Luscombe trashing just about every furniture or thing they could get their hands on in the house. Also, there's the twirling foot of Neil and the funny "raised eyebrow" look on Stephen's face. Humor was injected into this break-up song and while it may seem cathartic in dealing with the anger and regret for a love lost, it's also a tad violent for the little tykes (Wouldn't want to see them smashing things left and right, do you?). Here's my take on "Lose Your Love". Enjoy!!!

Then here's the music video I've mentioned. (Thanks to the uploader on YouTube: UltimaThule8888)

Pet Shop Boys - Rent
(DJ Ultrasound Dubbin The Maxi Version)

Rent is a 1987 single by the Pet Shop Boys. It was released in the UK by Parlophone on 12 October 1987. The lyrics concern a financially one-sided relationship, i.e. that of a kept man, or woman, the title implying more specifically the lot of a rent boy.
Peaking at number 8 in the UK charts, the video, directed by Derek Jarman, features scenes filmed at London's King's Cross station. The video stars Alexander Thynn, 7th Marquess of Bath hosting a dinner party when his partner gets annoyed as he shows her no attention, she then gets Neil Tennant to drive her to Kings Cross and she meets Chris Lowe on the platform and they both leave together.

DAVID BOWIE - Sound + Vision (808 STATE Version) (chronovisor mix) [repost]

Hi music.blog.lovers!

These days I got a nice request:

Hi Floyd aka "chronovisor",

I write you from good ol' Europe (in my case Luxembourg, so german would also be ok for an answer). I'm a great Bowie fan - and this way I found many hints to your remix of the Bowie classic "Sound & Vision" or to be more exact: your remix of the 808 state version of Sound & Vision.

This way I found the link to zhare as well, but: since more than a week I'm trying to download from there - with no success at all. Meanwhile I hitted on that stupid link for more than a hundred times (noticed by the counter on that side jumping from something in the 800'ies up to 1012 now ... and their 'download' page is only reloading, but never starting the download at all (even tried with different browsers and operating systems!).

So well, that's my problem and the reason why I'm asking for your kind help. You will do me a great favour when you could help me out with a working link ;) or any helpful hint to another working download option to get this sought remix.

Looking forward to your help. With best wishes,

TopaZ :)

Well TopaZ from Luxemburg, such a nice request like you did needs to be rewarded, so, the link is revitalised. ENJOY! Floyd Anderson.

P.S.: The filehoster zshare was attacked late last year and all the links (not only mine ones!) were deleted. So, for requests from old links of that filehoster, just e-mail me, you see, it works! :-)

SSQ - Synthicide [McDoC Evo-XR Mix]

Running Time: 6:58

From the synth band SSQ way back in 1983. Not really a big hit but I really like this song and remember playing it again and again back in the day. The band's music videos helped lead vocalist Stacey Swain become popular, eclipsing other members of the band. In 1985, Stacey released her solo album as "Stacey Q" (remember "Two of Hearts", in 1986?) with her SSQ bandmates as musicians. Well, here's my re-edit of Synthicide. Hope you check it out.

SOFA SURFERS - Sofa Rockers (chronovisor mix)

Hello music.blog lovers!

First of all I want to wish you all the best for 2009. My missus and me were on vacation at different locations (Rarotonga/Cook Islands and Nelson/New Zealand), and it was great. So there was no time to think about doing anything with the blog etc. But vacation is over now, and I'm gonna be continueing here and on STRICTLY MIXES.

Earlier last year I noticed that the filehoster 'zshare' was hacked and all my files were gone, and even though it's working correctly again, I decided to change it to 'rapidshare', but this one also gave me hard times saying that after 10 downloads the file gets deleted automatically, because of not being signed in. So, again I changed my presentations back to old filehoster 'savefile', which really seems to be the 'save'est now (hopefully), we will see.

Today I present you music from my old home country Austria (as you maybe know, I immigrated to New Zealand recently). This band came up in 1997 so quick, unexpected and successful, many people wondered where they were from, and surprisingly they came from Vienna/Austria. And they're still successful. Todays tune is a dub one I basically doubled (a doubledub !) ;-) I did in late 2008. This piece of music you may recognize, because it might have been used in several shows, reports, or other programs for background music. If it's so, let me know, but for now just ENJOY! Floyd Anderson.
