MR. OIZO - Kirk (chronovisor mix)

Who is QUENTIN DUPIEUX? Never heard of him? No bells ringing? Nothing? Nada?
Well, me neither. Until I started to look after my 'flatmate' Flat Eric. And I thought, what is all about that yellow flat guy? Who is he, and where is he from? Well, his birthday is March 20, 1996 in France. And his native language is occasional squawk. And he was created from the above mentioned musician/mixer/DJ/producer. The story afterwoods is well known, isn't it? And that one still goes on and on and on.
But the question is: Was there also an audiophile life before Flat Eric? And the answer is: Yes there was! And here it is: The start of a very individually produced deep house sound. And who is the protagonist here? Well, it's Kirk! But listen for yourself. And relax. And ENJOY this "chronovisor mix"! Floyd Anderson.

Living In a Box - Room In Your Heart
[McDoC Evo-XR Mix]

Running Time: 6:17

I treasure the eponymous album of Living In A Box that I bought their follow-up album "Gatecrashing" even if I haven't heard a single song in it. Very much pleased with its entire selection, the track that really struck me was "Room in your Heart". At that time, it was only "Blow the House Down" that has been released as a single. After a few months, a friend of mine borrowed it and unfortunately, lost it somewhere. But he was kind enough to replace it with a new one. Actually, the one he gave me was a repackaged edition which featured the 7" single version of "Room in your Heart" (which was already moving up the UK charts then) instead of the original album version. The single version is far better in my opinion and it became the most popular track from the 2nd LP. Richard Darbyshire's soulful voice is amazingly great along with his guitar playing, as are Marcus Vere on synthesizers and Anthony "Tich" Critchlow on drums. It's just too sad that they broke up before they were able to put out a third album.

This has to be one of the best love songs out there and would be appropriate for the love month of February. So here's my re-edit, wherein I used both the single and album versions.

Here's the song's music video from the band's Official YouTube Channel (Check the site for their music and live videos)

Rick Springfield - Love Somebody
[McDoC Evo-XR Mix]

Running Time: 6:00

This song also didn't have an official extended version. I've always loved the guitar intro of "Smell Like Teen Spirit" so I kinda re-arranged the intro into a little bit something like that.

GEORG DANZER - Weisse Pferde
(Chronovisor mix)
[repost]

Another request reached me these days from Soeren from Germany, and this one brings back to me old memories of a very good musician, songwriter and singer of the 70s and 80s from Austria, my home country. Badly enough, this guy passed away of lung cancer ways too early. One of his best songs I mixed once, and I repost it right here and now. ENJOY! Floyd Anderson.
