The "night versions" of the fab five's hits were much sought after by dance clubs in the eighties. Since this song didn't have an official extended version (well, the monster mix was actually more of a dub mix), I patterned this re-edit to the arrangement of a "night version" (starting with a long instrumental part before the vocals set in). The result is a simple remix stretched to about 8 minutes and 9 seconds.

My very first posting is about one of the most talented musicians and producers in the world. And this todays tune is an outstanding one. But even though a 'Best Of' CD was released, this song didn't consist, which was surely a big disappointment to many people. So it was - for me as well - a "Geheimtipp" for a long time.
What I could do at least was to bring the very well known instrumental version and the almost unkown vocal version together sounding like a real 12" version which should have been all the time: Just timeless...

I've always thought that even the extended version was still kind of short at 4:48, so I stretched it further to 6:40 -- for remix version 1 (with the drum intro from the single version), then 7:57 -- for remix version 2 (wherein I rearranged the verses and used the intro of the extended version). I love this band. Their distinctive hairstyle definitely made an impact in the 1980's that lots of movies depicting that era have someone mentioning it or even sporting the "F.O.S. haircut". This song is the one I like the most among their hits.

SPANDAU BALLET - Nature of the Beast(McDoC Evo-XR Mix)

The term "Spandau Ballet" referred to the spasms of the Nazi war criminals as they "danced at the end of the rope", when they were hanged at Spandau Prison. [Wikipedia]

The album Parade of Spandau Ballet is a favorite of mine when it was released. This song wasn't released as a single, hence, no extended version. So I gave it the Evo-XR treatment and stretched it to over 7 minutes.

Addictive... this is what I can say about hits coming from this group. They have a winning formula that their fans never get tired of. I've combined the Instrumental, 7" Remix, Radio Mix, 12" Remix, LP Version, and the Extended Remix to come up with this re-edit. I highly recommend this one as it surely gets you in the groove!
