DAVID BOWIE - Real Cool World (chronovisor edit v 1.1)

Hello all, out there!

The artist I want to present you today is hyped all over the world because of his new album he released recently after ten years of absence. Well done, I must say!

And of course I also need to jump on to this 'hype-train' with presenting you a tune from the early 90s which was the title track of a movie back then, and the title says it all.

I combined the mixes from SATOSHI TOMIIE to a 'real cool suite', a very danceable and listenable 'chronovisor edit'.

ENJOY!

Floyd Anderson.

Golden Years (Cygnet Extended Mix)

"..in walked luck and you looked in time. Never look back, walk tall, act fine..."

Yes. Another mix of Golden Years.
My Bowie fanaticism knows no end.

This mix features only the original version which I extended to 6:26 minutes. I made use of the remix stems recently made available in an iphone app – but not using an iphone… or the app.

Golden Years is well known enough, no need to go into any description about the song I believe, as it features on almost all best of Bowie compilations.

One interesting note though is that a few folks actually did cover this song. Reason I mention this is that it tends to be a Bowie song that isn't chosen very often. Wonder why... probably singing "Angel" in a falsetto places it in the too-hard-basket for most. That reason ofcourse didn't stop young Marilyn Manson creating his own alternative improvised mistake.

The two better covers are by Loose Ends (1986) and Mascara (1979).

Anyway, here is a mix I’m a little proud of. Enjoy!

Golden Years (Cygnet Mix)

Golden Years (Cygnet Mix)

Don't let me hear life's taking you nowhere....
Angel!

To follow the line of recent Bowie posts, I'll add a new one created from a combination of the original and three of the four recently KWRS released mixes of Golden Years.

Groove on!

Don't Look Down (Cygnet Mix)

When I hear that crazy sound, I don’t look down
From Central Park to shanty town, I always hear that crazy sound

A mix created combining Iggy Pop’s song “Don’t look down” with David Bowie’s version.
I included the album version, extended dance mix as well as the remix version of David Bowie.

Ashes to Ashes (Cygnet Mix)

What an old familiar song... with renewed attention to it these days by the recent British TV series of the same name (which I actually know nothing about since I have not watched a single episode...) but back to the song: This is a mix of three Ashes to Ashes versions into one. David Bowie is joined by both Tears for Fears and obscure 80's German pop singer Anna Dobiey (Thanks to Chronovisor for the latter!), who both really did a great job with their cover versions of the song.
Enjoy!

David Bowie - Fame (Cygnet Mix)

I was planning to mix some various version of Fame together since I started mixing, but it always turned out more tricky than I thought. For this mix I used the original 1975 album version, the 1990 Gass Mix, the Queen Latifah Mix, Hip Hop Mix, Absolutely Nothing Premeditated Mix, the wonderful mashup by Audiodile called Dirty Way To Fame, as well a little bit from the 1978 Stage live version.

Enjoy!

DAVID BOWIE - Sound + Vision (808 STATE Version) (chronovisor mix) [repost]

Hi music.blog.lovers!

These days I got a nice request:

Hi Floyd aka "chronovisor",

I write you from good ol' Europe (in my case Luxembourg, so german would also be ok for an answer). I'm a great Bowie fan - and this way I found many hints to your remix of the Bowie classic "Sound & Vision" or to be more exact: your remix of the 808 state version of Sound & Vision.

This way I found the link to zhare as well, but: since more than a week I'm trying to download from there - with no success at all. Meanwhile I hitted on that stupid link for more than a hundred times (noticed by the counter on that side jumping from something in the 800'ies up to 1012 now ... and their 'download' page is only reloading, but never starting the download at all (even tried with different browsers and operating systems!).

So well, that's my problem and the reason why I'm asking for your kind help. You will do me a great favour when you could help me out with a working link ;) or any helpful hint to another working download option to get this sought remix.

Looking forward to your help. With best wishes,

TopaZ :)

Well TopaZ from Luxemburg, such a nice request like you did needs to be rewarded, so, the link is revitalised. ENJOY! Floyd Anderson.

P.S.: The filehoster zshare was attacked late last year and all the links (not only mine ones!) were deleted. So, for requests from old links of that filehoster, just e-mail me, you see, it works! :-)

DAVID BOWIE - Sound + Vision (808 STATE Version) (chronovisor mix)

Hi musicblog lovers!

So many people around me did mixes of a very special artist I want present you today, whose songs (well, most of them) I do like so, so much. I decided now to do a mix of one of his tunes as well. The interesting thing on this is that this special one already is mixed very well by someone other. And these mixers also were mentioned here earlier, because I like it how they mix, so they are forerunners for me that way.
To demonstrate what I mean you get two songs today, a new remix of mine I did recently and a repost (the first one here!). It isn't too complicated for you, or is it? Well then, enough of words. Here you go. ENJOY! Floyd Anderson.
